DASGIP continues growth path

For DASGIP AG, the first half of the 2010 fiscal year represents the most successful six-month period in its history. “The positive development of DASGIP AG continues unabated,” says DASGIP CEO Dr. Thomas Drescher. “We now have 2,500 parallel bioreactors in operation around the world that help engineers and scientists develop their laboratory projects faster and more efficiently. We are proud to claim nine of the world’s ten leading pharmaceutical companies as customers.”

The modular concept of the DASGIP parallel bioreactor systems ensures maximum flexibility during configuration, retrofitting or when expanding at a later time. Faced with rapid advances in technology and growing demands on research and development, successful biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies must frequently respond to changes.

So that users of DASGIP parallel bioreactor systems can continue to take advantage of the latest technology developments, the Germany-based company introduced several highly innovative products over the last year. As a result, biotechnology companies, research facilities and the pharmaceutical industry enjoy more flexible R&D projects, increased cell and media productivity and shortened innovation cycles. The previous year’s innovations include:

•    PhotoBioreactor for illuminating phototrophic cells with custom light             spectra

•    DASGIP iApp for remote access to DASGIP parallel bioreactor systems         via iPhone, iPod touch and iPad

•    Integration of disposable bioreactors such as the Thermo Scientific             HyClone and Mobius CellReady

•    Data transfer via OPC which allows 3rd party laboratory devices (as       autosamplers or analyzers) to be integrated into the DASGIP control               system

•    Data mining tool for linking process data with user-defined                          supplementary information, leading to easier data analysis
