Optimized Photosynthesis by High-Precision Lighting

By integrating up to four Illuminators per bioreactor, the DASGIP Benchtop Reactors can be easily and individually transformed into DASGIP PhotoBioreactors. The accurate and powerful DASGIP process control system can now also be used to cultivate phototrophic organisms such as plant suspensions, algae or green sulfur bacteria.

A novel method of arranging multiple LEDs into a rod inside the reactor ensures an ideal light source, leading to superior photosynthetic and growth rates. The LED emission spectra can be precisely regulated to meet the requirements of bacterial and plant photosynthesis by using the DASGIP Control Software to individually adjust the light intensity and the spectral composition of the light source.

The DASGIP PhotoBioreactor will be presented at Biotechnica (October 6-8, 2009) in Hanover, Hall 9, Booth G25!
